Car being towed after slipping in snow

Snow covered parts of the Mount Fuji area and high-altitude locations on February 2, with Fujikawaguchiko recording 4 centimeters of snowfall.

According to the local weather station, as of 10 AM on February 2, snow accumulation reached:

  • Yamanakako: 10 centimeters
  • Fujikawaguchiko: 4 centimeters

Some vehicles had trouble on the snowy roads. At Misaka Pass, several cars slipped and needed tow truck assistance.

While weather conditions have now improved across the region, temperatures are expected to drop significantly tomorrow morning (February 3):

Drivers should be extra careful as roads may become icy. If you plan to drive in these areas, please check weather updates and road conditions before your trip.
