Fujikyu Railway Co., Ltd. announced on January 31 that they will adjust their train schedules on the Fujikyuko Line starting March 15, 2025. The first morning train from Kawaguchiko Station will depart earlier to connect with JR’s special limited express train “Kaiji 70” at Otsuki Station, making early morning travel to central Tokyo more convenient.
JR East Japan will introduce the new limited express “Kaiji 70” as part of their March 2025 schedule changes. This special weekday service will depart from Kofu Station at 5:40 AM and stop at Otsuki Station (departing at 6:16 AM) before heading to the Shinjuku/Tokyo area.
To coordinate with this new service, the current first train from Kawaguchiko Station (currently departing at 5:26 AM and arriving at Otsuki Station at 6:19 AM) will be rescheduled to depart at 5:21 AM and arrive at Otsuki Station at 6:10 AM. This change will allow passengers to transfer to the “Kaiji 70,” making early morning travel from the Mt. Fuji area to Tokyo more convenient for both commuters and tourists.
The schedule revision also introduces a new premium seating option on the Chuo and Ome Lines. The E233 series trains (with orange stripes) will feature double-decker Green Cars (first-class cars) from Otsuki Station to Shinjuku/Tokyo, offering a more comfortable travel experience. However, please note that regular through-service trains between the Chuo Line and Fujikyuko Line (excluding limited express services) will not include Green Cars. Some arrival and departure times for the limited express “Fuji Kaiyu” at Otsuki and Kawaguchiko stations will also be adjusted.
